Ridgeway Secondary School is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment through the dedicated efforts of our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, trained in collaboration with The Diana Award’s Anti-Bullying Programme. These ambassadors play a pivotal role in promoting respect and kindness within our school and the wider community.
Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
In June 2024, ten students from Years 7, 8, and 9 were selected to become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors after a rigorous application process. They attended comprehensive training provided by The Diana Award, equipping them with the skills to identify, address, and prevent bullying behaviours.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Peer Support: Ambassadors serve as approachable figures for their peers, offering guidance and assistance to those affected by bullying.
- Awareness Campaigns: They lead initiatives to educate students about the impact of bullying and the importance of a respectful school culture.
- Community Outreach: Our ambassadors extend their efforts to local primary schools, conducting workshops and assemblies to instill anti-bullying values from an early age.
Impact on Local Primaries
Understanding the importance of early education on bullying prevention, our ambassadors actively engage with nearby primary schools. By organising interactive sessions, they educate younger students about recognising and combatting bullying, fostering a community-wide culture of empathy and respect.
