Mr Worton has been at Ridgeway for nine years, holding various roles during his time at the school. He studied BSc Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Wolverhampton before completing a PGCE in Secondary Physical Education at the University of Staffordshire. Beginning his career as a PE Teacher, he took his first responsibility as Head of Year and then moved to Head of PE. During 2020 he was appointed as Assistant Headteacher and in 2022 was appointed as the school’s Deputy Headteacher. Since the school moved into the Shires MAT, Mr Worton has been appointed as the Trust Lead for Safeguarding and Attendance.
His key responsibilities at Ridgeway Secondary School include:
